It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Thursday’s schedule.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds – 2:10 PM ET

The Pittsburgh Pirates will actually play the Cincinnati Reds twice today. The game we’re going to pay attention to is the first of the day. The Pirates have lost three of their last five, most recently a 16-0 loss to the Yankees. On the mound tonight is the 2-2 Roansy Contreras, who has an ERA of 4.09 this season.

The Cincinnati Reds have also had a bit of trouble this season, losing three of their last five. Their most recent loss was an 8-3 loss to the New York Mets. Considering each of these teams has a hard time beating New York teams, this should be interesting. The Reds will send out the 1-5 Mike Minor, which leads us to take the Pirates here.

Washington Nationals vs. Philadelphia Phillies – 4:05 PM ET

The Washington Nationals have been dealing with a lot of injuries. Still, they’re coming off of a 3-2 win over the Phillies yesterday. If they can keep the momentum going, they could land another win tonight. Unfortunately for them, the 1-11 Joan Adon will get the start tonight. Adon has an ERA of 6.97 over the course of 60.2 innings.

The Phillies have a .248 batting average as a team, only slightly behind the Nationals. They’ll also be starting a better pitcher tonight in the 0-2 Bailey Falter. Usually, we wouldn’t say a pitcher without a win is better but Falter’s ERA is 4.88. Taking this into consideration, we’ll take the Phillies tonight at -190.

Miami Marlins vs. New York Mets – 7:10 PM ET

Jumping ahead into the later games we’ll see the Miami Marlins face the New York Mets. The Marlins, with a record of 39-41, have won four of their last five this season. Yesterday, the Marlins suffered a 5-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. On the mound tonight is Daniel Castano, who is 1-1 with an ERA of 2.42 this season.

The New York Mets will send out the 1-5 Trevor Williams tonight. Williams has an ERA of 4.34 over the course of 45.2 innings. Where the Mets excel in this one is at the plate with a team batting average of .257. Williams on the mound will keep this game close, but the Mets batters should win it. We’ll take New York tonight at -165.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Atlanta Braves – 7:20 PM ET

Beginning shortly after the game above is the match between the Cardinals and the Braves. With a record of 44-40 this season, the Cardinals will look to hold their second-place position in the NL Central. The Cardinals have a team batting average of .252, slightly better than the Braves’ .249. On the mound tonight is the 2-1 Matthew Liberatore, who has a 5.66 ERA.

The Atlanta Braves have won four of their last five games. The Cardinals, on the other hand, have lost four of their last five. Atlanta is starting Spencer Strider, who is 4-2 with an ERA of 2.87 this season. The Braves have already beaten the Cardinals three times in a row, a fourth isn’t far-fetched. We’ll go with Strider and the Braves to win this one at -225.

San Francisco Giants vs. San Diego Padres – 9:40 PM ET

These two NL West teams are jostling for position in the division. The Giants, currently ranked third in the NL West have a record of 41-39. Taking down the Padres is going to require strong pitching, which is why the Giants are starting Logan Webb. Webb is 7-3 as a starter with an ERA of 3.13 in 97.2 innings. The Giants as a team have a batting average of .236.

The San Diego Padres are 47-36 with a record of 21-18 at home. They rank second in the NL West and are well in front of the San Francisco Giants. The Padres will start Joe Musgrove tonight, the 8-2 starting pitcher with an ERA of 2.25. This will be a fun pitching battle to watch, that much is certain. However, we’ll go with the Giants on the road at +115.
