It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Thursday’s schedule.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Cincinnati Reds – 12:35 PM ET

Today we’re beginning our best bets of the day with an early game between the Diamondbacks and Reds. Arizona finally secured a win over the Reds with a 7-0 victory yesterday. Today, they’ll look to improve their 27-31 record this season with another win. However, this will be much easier said than done. On the mound tonight is the 2-3 Zach Davies.

The Cincinnati Reds had a tough time at the plate and on the mound yesterday. Their mound troubles might not get much better with the 2-5 Tyler Mahle starting. Mahle has an ERA of 5.43, giving the pitching advantage to the Diamondbacks. Batting still goes to the Reds who have a team batting average of .236. We’ll take the Reds to win this one at home -135.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Tampa Bay Rays – 1:10 PM ET

The St. Louis Cardinals are 32-25 but have lost their last two games. Both of these losses were to the Tampa Bay Rays, the most recent one being an 11-3 defeat. After a tough loss, the Cardinals will look to get back on track with Miles Mikolas on the mound. Mikolas has a record of 4-3 this season with a 3.02 ERA.

The Tampa Bay Rays will start one of their best pitchers tonight, Shane McClanahan. McClanahan has a record of 6-2 this season with an incredible ERA of 2.10. Between these two teams, we should see a lot of great pitching. However, the Rays have the edge with McClanahan at the helm. We’ll take the Rays -185.

Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants – 3:45 PM ET

Moving on to later in the afternoon, the Rockies will face the Giants. So far, this series is split at one game for each team. Yesterday’s game ended in a 2-1 loss in the 10th inning for the Rockies. At the moment, the Rockies have a record of 24-32 with an 8-16 record on the road. Getting the start tonight is the 2-6 Austin Gomber, who really hurts their chances of winning.

The Giants will send out one of their best, Logan Webb, who is 5-1 as a starter. Webb has an ERA of 3.82, which is leagues better than Gomber’s 6.54. The Giants have the edge when it comes to pitching, but the Rockies win the batting battle. As a team, the Giants have a batting average of .242. With Webb as the starter the Giants are the best pick here -270.

Oakland Athletics vs. Cleveland Guardians – 7:10 PM ET

Jumping forward a bit, we’ll see the Oakland Athletics at the Cleveland Guardians. The Athletics losing streak continued yesterday with a 13-2 loss to the Braves. At the moment, their losing streak has extended to eight games. Today, they’ll start their series against the Cleveland Guardians, hoping to claim a victory. On the mound tonight is the 0-3 James Kaprielian.

Kaprielian doesn’t give us much hope for the Athletics today. On the opposite side, for the Cleveland Guardians, Konnor Pilkington will get the start. Pilkington has a 1-0 record this season with an ERA of 2.65. He’s only pitched 17 innings this year, throwing 23 strikeouts. Between these two, the Guardians are the clear choice at -175.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Atlanta Braves – 7:20 PM ET

Our final game of the night will see the Pittsburgh Pirates face the Atlanta Braves. The Pirates, 24-30 this season, have lost three of their last five games. Their last two games were losses to the Detroit Tigers. With the Pirates on a downward skid, they need to regain balance quickly. Unfortunately, they’ll start the 0-5 JT Brubaker on the mound tonight.

The Atlanta Braves batters are likely excited to face Brubaker. As a team, the Braves are batting .244 with an on-base percentage of .310. The Braves have also won seven games in a row, putting momentum in their favor. Still, this streak has to come to a close eventually and we think tonight is the night for that. We’ll go with the underdogs here, the Pittsburgh Pirates +230.
