It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Thursday’s schedule.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. New York Mets – 1:10 PM ET

Beginning our best bets of the day we have another game between the Cardinals and Mets. Yesterday, the Cardinals faced Max Scherzer of the Mets and the Cardinals lost 11-4. Tonight, they’ll send out the 3-2 Dakota Hudson in hopes of claiming a win on the road. To do this, they’ll need to make sure they limit the effectiveness of the Mets batters.

For New York, the 4-2 Chris Bassitt will get the start. Bassitt has an ERA of 2.34 over the course of 42.1 innings pitched. Through that time, Bassitt has thrown 46 strikeouts and allowed just 4 home runs. Again, we’d say the advantage goes to the Mets in terms of pitching. The odds are better for the Mets today so we’ll take them again -175.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Cleveland Guardians – 1:10 PM ET

Our next game features the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Guardians. The Reds, 10-26 this season, are coming off of a 5-4 win over the Guardians. In their last five games, the Reds have won three of them. Tyler Mahle, the 2-4 starting pitcher for the Reds, will take the mound against Cleveland. Mahle has an ERA of 5.89 and has pitched 36.2 innings.

For the Guardians, Cal Quantrill will get the start on the mound. Quantrill has an ERA of 3.93 but a record of 1-2 this season. The Guardians have the edge over the Reds in terms of batting, but that didn’t earn them a win yesterday. Still, we don’t see the Reds being able to secure another win over the Guardians today.

Seattle Mariners vs. Boston Red Sox – 7:10 PM ET

Jumping forward to later in the night we’ll see the Seattle Mariners face the Boston Red Sox. Seattle, currently with a record of 17-21, comes off a 5-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. They’ll look to bring some of that momentum into tonight’s game. They’ll send out George Kirby to the mound, with an ERA of 0.90, but has only pitched 10 innings.

The Boston Red Sox are fresh off of a series win over the Houston Astros. Boston has a record of 15-22 and is 6-10 at home. With a rough start to the season, this could be a close game for Boston. The 1-1 Rich Hill will get the start for the Red Sox, Hill has an ERA of 2.89 this season. Although Boston has a slight edge over them, we’ll take the Mariners +110.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Chicago Cubs – 7:40 PM ET

The Arizona Diamondbacks are 18-21 to start the season with an 8-10 road record. They’ve lost six games in a row and are hoping to stop the skid tonight. However, one of the teams they lost to during this skid was the Chicago Cubs. With a team batting average of .207, it’s not hard to see why they have such a poor record.

The Chicago Cubs have won four of their last five games. Although they have an under .500 record, the Cubs are looking to turn things around. Unfortunately, the 1-3 Marcus Stroman will get the start on the mound for Chicago. In this game, the Diamondbacks actually have the edge in terms of pitching. We’ll take Arizona to win this one on the road -120.

Texas Rangers vs. Houston Astros – 8:10 PM ET

The Texas Rangers start their next series against the Houston Astros tonight. In the previous series, the Rangers lost three out of four games to Houston. With a record of 17-19, the Rangers have won four of their last five games. With Glenn Otto on the mound, Texas will hope that they can secure a win to start this series.

For the Astros, Framber Valdez will get the start today. Valdez has a record of 2-2 this season with a 2.93 ERA. His ERA is leagues better than Otto’s (6.38), which is why we’ll say the Astros have the edge. The Astros also have a slight edge in terms of team batting average at .229. With that being said, we’ll take Houston -210 tonight.
