Tampa Bay Rays vs. Cleveland Guardians – 12:07 PM ET

The Tampa Bay Rays are going to begin their series against the Cleveland Guardians tonight. Through the regular season, the Rays went 86-76 and had a 35-46 record on the road. Tonight, they’ll be starting Shane McClanahan, who went 12-8 during the regular season. He posted an ERA of 2.54 and gives the Rays the best chance to win today.

The Cleveland Guardians posted a 92-70 record through the regular season. Shane Bieber will get the start on the mound for the Guardians after posting a 13-8 record this year. The area where the Guardians have the true advantage is at the plate. They have a batting average of .254 compared to the Rays’ .239. Go with the Guardians -120 at home to start the series.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. St. Louis Cardinals – 2:07 PM ET

Shortly after the game between the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians is this one. The 87-75 Philadelphia Phillies will face the 93-69 St. Louis Cardinals. The 12-7 Zack Wheeler will get the start for the Phillies tonight. Wheeler posted an ERA of 2.82 during the regular season and is a great choice on the mound.

Still, the Cardinals batting might have even Wheeler on his heels today. As a team, the St. Louis Cardinals posted a batting average of .252 during the regular season. However, the Phillies posted a .253 average. Because of this, we’ll take the Phillies -105 over the Cardinals in this one.

Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays – 4:07 PM ET

With a 90-72 record to end the regular season, the Seattle Mariners face the Toronto Blue Jays. This is going to be a tough one for the Mariners, especially with who the Blue Jays are starting. Luis Castillo will get the start for Seattle, boasting an 8-6 record with a 2.99 ERA. The problem we anticipate for the Mariners is at the plate where they’re batting .230 this season.

The Toronto Blue Jays are batting .264, one of the best averages in the entire league. They’re also starting Alek Manoah, who had a 16-7 record during the regular season. Manoah posted an ERA of 2.24 during that time and gives the Blue Jays the best chance of winning. For us, it’s a clear choice to take the Blue Jays at -135 tonight.

San Diego Padres at New York Mets – 8:07 PM ET

Perhaps the best game of the day is the San Diego Padres at New York Mets. The Padres finished the year with a record of 89-73, going 45-36 on the road. Getting the start on the mound tonight is Yu Darvish, one of the Padres’ best pitchers. Darvish went 16-8 through the season with an ERA of 3.10. His opponent, however, is one of the best in the league.

Max Scherzer, who put up an 11-5 record during the regular season, gets the start tonight. He has an ERA of 2.29, one of the best ERAs in the league. He’s backed up by a team that went 101-61 and has a batting average of .259. For the first game of this series, we’ll take the Mets -155.
