It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Wednesday’s schedule.
Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds – 12:35 PM ET
The first game that we’re going to go over today is between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds. The Pirates, with a record of 54-88, have won three games in a row. All of these games were against the Reds and they’ll look for the sweep tonight. On the mound is Roansy Contreras, who is 5-4 with a 3.29 ERA.
The Cincinnati Reds are sending out Nick Lodolo, who has a 4-5 record this season. With a 3.78 ERA, Lodolo only comes in slightly behind Contreras. The Reds desperately need a win after losing their last six games. However, we’ll take the Pirates again at +135.
Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago White Sox – 2:10 PM ET
These two teams have had a pretty great series so far. Last night was a close 4-2 loss for the Colorado Rockies who will look to bounce back today. The 8-9 Kyle Freeland will get the start on the mound with an ERA of 4.63. Again, the Rockies will have to rely on their batters who have a team average of .258.
The Chicago White Sox have gone 4-1 over their last five games. With a record of 73-69, they’re currently second in the AL Central after passing the Twins. On the mound is Dylan Cease, one of the best pitchers in MLB. He has a record of 14-6 with a 2.06 ERA and we’ll take the White Sox -250 today.
Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants – 3:45 PM ET
The Atlanta Braves finally broke a three-game losing streak last night. They beat the Giants 5-1 and improved their record to 88-54. They’re still second in the NL East, however, due to those three losses. On the mound tonight is the 8-5 Charlie Morton with a 4.08 ERA. Although Morton hasn’t been great this year, he’s a reliable pitcher.
The San Francisco Giants have a record of 68-74 but are 38-33 at home. Before yesterday’s loss, the Giants were on a three-game winning streak. They’ll start the 12-8 Carlos Rodon, who has an ERA of 2.93. We’ll actually take the Giants at home +100 over the Braves tonight.
Baltimore Orioles vs. Washington Nationals – 7:05 PM ET
Jumping ahead into the evening, we’ll see the Baltimore Orioles face the Washington Nationals. With a record of 74-67, the Orioles are fourth in the AL East. They were able to earn a 4-3 win over the Nationals yesterday and search for another today. Helping them earn one is Tyler Wells, who has a 7-6 record and a 3.91 ERA.
Getting the nod for the Nationals is struggling pitcher Patrick Corbin. Corbin has a record of 6-18 with an ERA of 6.30. With a record and ERA that bad, we’ll have to go with the Orioles on the road. They have a worse batting lineup but they’ve got the advantage on the mound.
Milwaukee Brewers vs. St. Louis Cardinals – 7:45 PM ET
Our final game of the night is between the Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals. The Brewers are second in the NL Central, following closely behind the Cardinals. The 10-6 Corbin Burnes will face off against the 10-9 Adam Wainwright of the Cardinals. Burnes has the better ERA at 2.93 but Wainwright has the better backup.
The St. Louis Cardinals have a .256 batting average as a team, which will definitely help. Wainwright has an ERA of 3.33, which isn’t much worse than Burnes either. Look for the Cardinals to secure this game at home +105 over the Brewers.
