It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look at the top five games on Tuesday’s schedule.
San Francisco Giants at New York Mets
The New York Mets will host the Giants today in the first game of a four-game series. The Giants, currently 7-2, have a 3-0 record on the road this year. The Giants have mixed strong pitching with great batting this season. This combination has led to a five-game winning streak, which they’ll try to extend today. On the mound is the 1-0 Alex Cobb with a 3.60 ERA.
This game was supposed to happen yesterday but was postponed. Because of this, the Giants and Mets will play a double-header today. The first game is at 12:10 PM PT and the second will be at 4:40 PM PT. These back-to-back games can be rough on teams, but the Mets and Giants are ready. Tylor Megill was announced to be the starter for the New York Mets in this game.
St. Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins
After splitting their series with the Milwaukee Brewers, the Cardinals will head to Miami. In their most recent game, they took a 6-5 loss to the Brewers. Pitching seems to be a problem for the Cardinals this season, especially with so many on the IL. Adam Wainwright will get the start on the mound today. Wainwright is 1-1 this season with 13 strikeouts in 10 innings pitched.
The Miami Marlins are 4-5 but have a 3-1 record at home this season. They’re coming off a huge 11-3 win over Philadelphia and will look to carry that momentum. On the mound today is Jesus Luzardo, who has thrown 12 strikeouts in just five innings. With one of their best on the mound, we think the Marlins could win this game.
Los Angeles Angels vs. Houston Astros
This could be a game where you’ll need to get your popcorn ready. The Los Angeles Angels have some big bats, but so do the Houston Astros. As a team, the Angels have the ninth-best batting average at .248. In terms of runs, they rank third with 52 so far this season. On the mound is Patrick Sandoval, but the Angels batters face a tough opponent.
The Houston Astros will send out Framber Valdez to the mound today. Valdez is 1-0 this season with nine strikeouts in 9.2 innings pitched. However, the Astros’ batting has been uncharacteristically bad this season. As a team, they have a batting average of .215, tied for 22nd in MLB. The Angels come in at +140 and we’d take them on the Moneyline tonight.
Cincinnati Reds at San Diego Padres
The Cincinnati Reds are 2-9 and have lost their last seven games. Their most recent game was the first of the series against the Padres and they lost 4-1. Poor pitching could be one problem, but their most noticeable is the awful batting. The Reds rank 29th in Major League Baseball in team batting average at .181. On the mound today is the 0-1 Reiver Sanmartin.
For the Padres, this series got off to a great start for them. They’ll also have Joe Musgrove on the mound tonight, easily one of their best pitchers. Musgrove has an ERA of 1.42 and has thrown 14 strikeouts in 12.2 innings. The good news is that the Padres aren’t heavy favorites here, only -185. We’d definitely take them on the Moneyline or the -1.5 on the run line.
Atlanta Braves at Los Angeles Dodgers
This is the second game of the series between the Braves and the Dodgers. The first saw the Braves take a 7-4 loss after their pitching struggled to slow the Dodgers batters. Unfortunately, we expect the same thing to happen again today. Max Fried will get the start on the mound for the Braves, Fried is 0-2 with an ERA of 5.73.
The Dodgers will send out Walker Buehler to start the game, Buehler is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA. The more important part of the Dodgers game is their batting, which ranks fourth in MLB. With a team batting average of .266, the Braves will have another tough outing tonight. The best bet here is taking the Dodgers -160.
