NCAA Basketball Look Ahead; Friday, Feb. 11, 2022

We are now nearing the end of the college basketball season as conference tournaments will start to get underway in just over a month.

There is a ton of very good conference matchups this upcoming week, and this is the point where games are going to start deciding whether or not a team can win a conference title.

Losses from here on out are going to be very tough for some programs to overcome if they wish to win a conference title. Below we take a look at five games that will be of impact this week.

UConn Huskies Travels to Cincinnati to Face Xavier Musketeers

The Uconn Huskies will hit the road to take on the Xavier Musketeers in a game that is among one of the best of the week. The Huskies and Musketeers are both going to be looking to prove that they belong in the Top 25 as the Huskies sit at #17 in the polls and the Musketeers are at #21. UConn is 15-5 overall this season with a 6-3 Big East record, while Xavier is 16-5 with a 6-4 conference record.

R.J. Cole leads UConn in scoring so far this season as he scores 16.0 points per contest. Jack Nunge leads Xavier in scoring as he provides 12.3 points a game. Both of these teams hold opponents to less than 65 points a game pointing toward two very defensive-minded opponents.

I lean toward Xavier having the edge in this game.
