The NFL is back! The first games of the season kicks off on Thursday night, and the rest of the weekend’s matchups are sure to be exciting. There are a lot of questions heading into this season: Can Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers lead their teams to the playoffs? Will the Dallas Cowboys finally live up to their potential? What will Jimmy Garoppolo do in San Francisco? We’ll find out the answers to these questions and more over the next few months. In the meantime, let’s take a look at some of the matchups for week 1.
NFL Regular Season Week 1 Betting Outlook
It’s the first week of regular season action in the NFL, and we anticipate some incredible games.
Today we’re going to take a look at each of these games and make our picks.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals – 9/11
The Steelers have yet to decide if rookie QB Kenny Pickett will be the starter this year. They have quite a few quarterbacks to choose from, so we’ll have to wait and see. The big problem is the Steelers only have a few weapons on offense.Â
The Cincinnati Bengals, however, have several weapons, including Ja’Marr Chase. Chase was one of the best receivers in the league last year. QB Joe Burrow returns and hopes to bring his team back to the Super Bowl. We think he’ll get off to a good start with a win at home.
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Detroit Lions – 9/11
The Philadelphia Eagles have added a new weapon for QB Jalen Hurts. Wide receiver A.J. Brown will give Hurts a reliable receiver and a big play threat. Aside from that, however, there haven’t been many changes to the Eagles roster.Â
The Detroit Lions come into this game making very few changes as well. Jared Goff is still the starting QB, which will prove to be a problem. Defensively, we don’t expect much from the Lions this year either. We’ll go with the Eagles at -4 in this one.
