NHL Look Ahead for Thursday, Jan. 27, and Friday, Jan. 28, 2022
We are getting closer and closer to the All-Star Game, but there are still some incredible matchups that are happening in the second half of this week.
Today we are going to discuss five different games closer towards the weekend and figure out where we should be leaning.
Calgary Flames at St. Louis Blues (Thursday)
The Calgary Flames will travel to Enterprise Center on Thursday to take on the St. Louis Blues in a Western Conference matchup.
St. Louis has been nothing short of phenomenal at home as they are 16-4-2 inside of Enterprise Center this season. The Flames are on the second half of a back-to-back here and could be tired as the Blues have two days off. St. Louis should be able to score and are 24-18 ATS compared to Calgary being a mediocre 18-19 ATS.
All in all, go with the Blues to cover the spread.
Washington Capitals at Dallas Stars (Friday)
The Caps will be on the road as they head to American Airlines Center on Friday to take on the Stars in an Eastern Conference vs Western Conference matchup. Washington has been better on both sides of the ice and have left winger Alex Ovechkin leading the way as he is tied for the NHL lead in points and second in goals.
Ovechkin has scored eight points in his last eight games, so he should be able to add to his total here as well.
Washington is 22-21 ATS this season while Dallas is 18-21 so go with the Capitals to cover the spread on the road here.
