November 18th: Ohio State Buckeyes at Xavier Musketeers

The NCAA men’s college basketball season got this past week underway, and we have already been treated to some excellent games. This upcoming week will be no different as the non-conference slate continues and we start to get into the meat of the showcase and tournament schedule. With so many in-season tournaments this year, we are bound to find some excellent matchups that aren’t necessarily on the schedule but will be once the games are played.

This upcoming week will give us five excellent non-conference games that could end up shaping a season for a team. There is a good quality of non-conference Power Five games and a few really solid mid-major programs matching up with top teams in the country. Below, we look at five games across the country that can be some of the best games of the week.

Buckeyes vs Xavier Insight

Just over 100 miles separates Ohio State and Xavier, and they will be meeting up in the Gavitt Games this season. #17 Ohio State will hit the road to Xavier and look to have a better showing than their last game. Ohio State escaped against Akron by one point and needed a last-second shot to do so. Xavier also ran in their opener as they beat Niagra by just three points. Look for this game to be a bit better of a performance by both teams.

It is early in the season, so you can’t decipher too much right now. Especially when both teams were similar statistically in their opening game, look for these teams to hit the under as they had trouble scoring. I think Xavier could get the big win at home over Ohio State.
