Philadelphia 76ers Travel to Orlando to Face the Magic

With Embiid and James Harden leading the charge, the 76ers are one of the best teams in the NBA. The Eastern Conference, however, is a very competitive conference and only getting tighter.

The good news for the 76ers is that they’re facing a very favorable opponent in the Orlando Magic. Still, they can’t underestimate Orlando, or they could be in for an upset.

The Orlando Magic have been able to secure some big wins in the past. Some of these teams include the Dallas Mavericks and the Toronto Raptors.

However, the Orlando Magic haven’t beaten the 76ers since 2019. We aren’t saying that it’s impossible, just very improbable that they can pull off an upset. However, they could potentially cover the spread; keep that in mind.

The Philadelphia 76ers are currently sitting at No.2 in the Eastern Conference. The Milwaukee Bucks, however, are breathing down their necks and closing in fast.

To keep them off, the 76ers need to continue winning games, including this one against Orlando. Embiid’s offense this season is on another level. In his most recent game against the Bulls, he put up 43 points. 

How the Orlando Magic can stop Embiid, this is something they’ll need to figure out. If they double-team him, it’ll only leave James Harden open. If they don’t, Embiid will have a huge night against the undersized Mo Bamba.

Orlando’s offense is also a huge problem since they average only 103.85 points per game. Needless to say, things aren’t looking good for the Orlando Magic.

This game comes down to the margins since the 76ers will be heavy favorites. In their last game against the Magic, they were 11.5-point favorites.

However, this was before the addition of James Harden, so the margin could climb significantly. The 76ers were able to win the game in January 123-110, covering the spread, with the total going over. Expect the same outcome here.

The Orlando Magic don’t have enough defensive ability to slow down the 76ers. They also don’t have enough offense to keep up with the scoring. In their last three games against the Sixers, the Magic are 1-2 against the spread.

As we mentioned above, this was all before the addition of James Harden. With Harden on the court, they have another great scorer to worry about. 

As far as the total is concerned, it might be smart to take the under in this one. The reason we say this is because of the Magic’s lackluster offense.

The over will be set higher than previous games because of James Harden. However, the Magic offense is still among the worst in the NBA. Because of this, the smarter bet is to take the under in this game.
