NCAA Basketball Look Ahead; Wednesday, January 5, 2022

College basketball is now in full swing of the conference slate. Most teams played one or two conference games in December, but we will only be seeing conference games from now until the end of the year.

Teams have used the first weeks of the season to get ready for conference play, as now we will see which teams are contenders and which teams have been propped up by an easy non-conference slate.

With 2022 on the horizon, we will see some great conference games in the first week of the year. We highlight Texas Tech Red Raiders vs Iowa State Cyclones.

Texas Tech Red Raiders Travel to Iowa to Face the Iowa State Cyclones

The Texas Tech Red Raiders will hit the road and travel to take on the Iowa State Cyclones on Wednesday night. Texas Tech is 10-2 on the season and are ranked #25 in the country. Iowa State is ranked #8 in the country and are a perfect 12-0 on the season.

Texas Tech is on a two-game winning streak. Iowa State has been on a 12 game winning streak to start the year after winning just three games last year. We will see how these teams are after the Holiday break and leading up to the NCAA Tournament.

Iowa State is scoring 73.1 points per game this year and has only allowed 56.1 points per game this season. Texas Tech is scoring 78.2 points per game and has allowed just 58.2 points per game this year. I would lean Iowa State in this big matchup. This should be a great game to watch from start to finish.  Probably the best game to watch on Wednesday.
