Portland Trail Blazers Travel to New York to Face the Knicks

A recent stretch of losses has put the Trail Blazers in a very unfortunate position. They were in the top ten of the Western Conference but have since lost their spot. If they want to get anywhere back into the top spot, they’ll need to string together a lot of wins.

They can start with taking down the New York Knicks. Unfortunately, that will be a much harder task than expected.

The New York Knicks are trying their best to get into the top ten in the Eastern Conference. It’s been tough sledding so far, but they’ve played better recently. Led by RJ Barrett and Julius Randle, the Knicks will try to get a win over the Trail Blazers.

With all of the injuries on the Trail Blazers sideline, the Knicks should come out on top. However, can they cover the spread?

New York isn’t getting along much better, but at least they’ve won a few games. As an offense, they actually rank behind the Trail Blazers in points per game. On average, the Knicks score 105.80 points per game, ranking 27th in the NBA.

The Knicks come in at a massive advantage because of the injuries dealt to the Trail Blazers. However, they aren’t great against the spread.

These two teams faced off recently in early February, and the Trail Blazers won the game. They came in as 4.5-point underdogs and won the game 112-103 at home.

This time, they’ll have to overcome a lot more injuries than they dealt with in February. Because of this, we think the Knicks will come out on top in this game. If the spread is around the same, they should cover.

In their last three games against the Trail Blazers, the Knicks are 2-1 against the spread. Neither of these teams has been great against the spread this season, an important note.

However, because of the injuries to Portland, the Knicks have a better chance to cover. New York has turned the tide against the spread recently as well, going 5-0 ATS in their last five.

When it comes to the total, we’d definitely recommend taking the under in this game. Each of these teams has offenses that rank in the bottom 25 of the NBA. With awful offenses and injuries, expect a low-scoring game on Wednesday.
