Week 16 Recap: Eagles in Dallas Minus the D

NFL Week 16 Recap

We are seeing many teams getting ready for the playoffs as we head into the final weeks of the NFL regular season. Some teams are starting to take the lead, while others fall into the background.

This next week, there are many games that are up in the air. You never know what will happen heading into each game. Many times, the underdogs can surprise you and come out ahead.

The dust has finally settled on a Christmas weekend Week 16 in the NFL. There are still five playoff spots still up for grabs, as we head into week 17. For now, let’s take a look at your week 16 recap.

Eagles in Dallas Minus the D (34-40 Cowboys)

We hope you took the OVER in Dallas on Christmas Eve. It was the big NFC East showdown between the Eagles and Cowboys, minus Jalen Hurts, and it also seemed to be missing both defenses.

The final score was 40-34, Cowboys, with over 850 total yards of combined offense. There were 50 first downs in the game, 16 third-down conversions on 29 attempts, and just one punt.

What we learned is that A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith are great regardless of who is throwing the ball, Gardner Minshew is a pretty good quarterback to have as a backup, and when things are clicking for the Cowboys’ offense, it is nearly unstoppable. Dak Prescott began the game with 15 consecutive completions, and the Dallas offense (as well as Philadelphia’s) looked as dominant as could be.

The win for the Cowboys kept their hopes alive for an NFC East title, and it put a short pause on Philadelphia’s celebration at wrapping up the top seed in the NFC. That still requires one more win from the Eagles, which they will try to get this week against the Saints.
