Associated Press AP Poll Top 25 Update
The AP Top 25 poll for men’s college basketball is officially available. Like last week, there was little movement this week, although there were still some notable teams moving around. Let’s look at the Top 25 this week and try to figure out how the poll could look like next week.
Who is on the Outside?
The following teams received votes and are looking to make their way into the Top 25 quickly: Oklahoma (122), Loyola Chicago (96), Miami (FL) (65), West Virginia (20), Connecticut (17), Indiana (12), Colorado State (10), San Diego State (9), Davidson (5), BYU (2), Iowa (2), and San Francisco (2). These teams are the teams who are next in line if a team within the Top 25 drops a game.
Oklahoma is the first team out for the second consecutive weekend and did not move in with a team dropping out this week. Loyola-Chicago has also played very well this week and are still just on the outside.
Indiana and Colorado State are very intriguing teams who are outside of the Top 25. Indiana just took down Ohio State, and Colorado State is one of the remaining unbeaten teams in the country. San Francisco is a very good WAC team, and they might get in with a win over Gonzaga in conference play.
