Clippers at Cavaliers, Bulls at Kings, Wizards at Warriors, Coyotes at Senators
We look toward Monday in the world of the NBA and the NHL and see a few really good games on tap. Let’s look at four games and break down the games to see what way the games will flow.
Los Angeles Clippers at Cleveland Cavaliers
The Los Angeles Clippers meet the Cleveland Cavaliers this evening in the first game of the day on the slate. The Clippers are 36-34 so far this season while the Cavaliers are 38-29. The Cavaliers have been a bit of a surprise so far this season but are continuing to play really good basketball. On a team with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard you wouldn’t think they would be hovering around .500 this season but a few injuries later and the Clippers are sitting in the 8th seed in the Western Conference. Look for this one to be a close game but I am confident that Cleveland will cover. Take the Cavaliers -5.5 tonight.
Chicago Bulls at Sacramento Kings
The Chicago Bulls (41-26) have gotten off to a very good start to their season this year and a lot of that is due to Demar DeRozan playing at an MVP level. DeRozan is scoring 28.1 points a game and is dishing off 5.1 assists per game. The Sacramento Kings (24-45), on the other hand, have really struggled this season and have also made some head scratching moves as they traded away their star point guard for a very good post player in Domantas Sabonis. The Kings have struggled a bit with playmaking over the past few weeks since the trade. This might be a little bit of a trap line with the Bulls as just a 3.5 favorite. Take the Bulls to cover the -3.5 spread tonight.
Washington Wizards at Golden State Warriors
The Washington Wizards have reshaped their roster this year and it is hard not to notice their new big man Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis is averaging 19.3 points a game with 6.7 rebounds per game this year. Golden State is once again led by Stephen Curry as he is scoring 25.5 points a game along with 6.4 assists per game. The Wizards are struggling this year and are 29-37 on the season while the Warriors are playing great basketball as they are 46-22. The Warriors needed some time to get healthy and now that they are they look like a contender for the NBA Finals. Golden State is favored in this one by 12.5 points. Take the Wizards to be able to cover this one tonight as a +12.5 underdog.
Now let’s take a look at the action on the ice!
Arizona Coyotes at Ottawa Senators
The lone NHL game this evening pits the Arizona Coyotes against the Ottawa Senators. The Coyotes are 18-36-4 on the year while the Senators are 21-32-5 this season. This game pits two of the worst five teams in the league against each other in what should be a competitive game. The Senators are 3-7 in their last 10 while the Coyotes sit at 6-4 in their last 10 games. With hockey, the most recent success is a very good indicator of how a team will play and so I like the Coyotes on the road tonight as an underdog. They are both battling for draft position but the Coyotes should be able to get it done. Take Arizona to cover the +1.5 puck line tonight.
Enjoy the games and good luck!!
