Wednesday provides us with some very good games in the NBA and NHL. Let’s take a look at the odds and give our predictions on the winners.

Portland Trail Blazers at New York Knicks

The Portland Trail Blazers make a cross-country trip on Wednesday evening to take on the New York Knicks. The Trail Blazers are really struggling over their last five games as they are just 1-4 in that span. The Knicks are not much better as they are 3-2 but have lost their last two games. This will be a battle of two of the worst teams in the NBA this season as Portland is 26-41 and the Knicks are 28-40. Look for the Trail Blazers to come to New York ready to play and give the home team a run for their money. Take the Trail Blazers to cover the +11.0 spread.

Los Angeles Lakers at Minnesota Timberwolves

One of the coldest teams in the league will be taking on one of the hottest teams in the league on Wednesday evening as the Los Angeles Lakers travel to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves. The Lakers are really struggling this year and are 29-39 on the season, while the Timberwolves are 40-30 this year. The Lakers are 1-4 over their last five games, while the Timberwolves are 4-1 over their last five games. Minnesota’s superstar Karl Anthony-Towns is coming off of a big 60 points effort in the win against the Spurs. I am going to fade the home team after a huge performance, however. Take the Lakers to cover the +8.5 point spread.

Chicago Bulls at Utah Jazz

This matchup will be a meeting between two very good teams who are struggling just a little bit right now. The Chicago Bulls are 41-27 on the season, while the Utah Jazz are 42-26 on the season. However, both of these teams are 2-3 over their past five games. These teams are locks for the playoffs and are now just jockeying for position in their conference. The Bulls did take down the Jazz earlier in the season, but that was on their home floor. The Jazz are very good at home, and the Bulls are not good on the road. For that reason, I think the Jazz will cover. Take the Jazz -3.5 in this one.

Boston Bruins at Minnesota Wild

The Boston Bruins face off with the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday evening. This should be a very good game as both teams are very similar. The Bruins are 37-18-5, while the Wild are 34-20-4 on the season so far. The Bruins are very solid on the road this year, and the Wild are very good at home, so this is going to be a game where it will likely come down to whoever makes a mistake near the end. The Bruins are on the road, but I just don’t see them struggling that much. Take the Bruins to cover the +1.5 puck line.

Columbus Blue Jackets at Ottawa Senators

The Columbus Blue Jackets head up to Canada today to take on the Ottawa Senators. The Blue Jackets are looking to continue their winning streak as they have now won two games in a row after a small three-game slide. The Senators are just looking for any type of momentum as they are 21-33-5 on the season so far. I think the Blue Jackets are just too powerful for the Senators in this one. Take the Blue Jackets to cover the +1.5 spread.

Tampa Bay Lightning at Seattle Kraken

The Tampa Bay Lightning take on the Seattle Kraken tonight as they look to try and catch Florida for the top spot in the Atlantic Division. In their last game, the Lightning ended their three-game skid as they beat Vancouver 2-1. In the Kraken’s last outing, they took down Montreal by a score of 4-3 in a shootout. This ended the Kraken’s run of four losses in a row. Both teams have the chance to create a winning streak tonight, and it won’t be the Kraken that starts a winning streak. Take the Lightning to cover the -1.5 spread.
