San Francisco Giants vs. Miami Marlins – 6:40 PM ET
To begin our daily sports bets, we’ll take a look at the San Francisco Giants at the Miami Marlins. The Giants, 27-22 this season, are coming off a 6-5 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. Determined to bounce back, San Francisco will send Alex Wood to the mound. The hope is that Wood can buy the Giants enough time to get a lead in this game.
The Miami Marlins are starting one of their best pitchers tonight, Sandy Alcantara. Alcantara has a record of 5.2 this season with a 2.00 ERA. The Marlins are tied with the Giants in terms of batting average at .246 as a team. However, the Marlins have a significant advantage with Alcantara on the mound. We’ll take Miami -140 today.
Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees – 7:05 PM ET
There are a few games tonight that is going to be entertaining. One of these games is the Los Angeles Angels at the New York Yankees. The Angels have been somewhat disappointing over the last few weeks, losing six games in a row. Their most recent loss was a 9-1 defeat handed to them by the Yankees. Tonight, Reid Detmers will get the start for the Angels.
This game was supposed to happen yesterday but was postponed until today. The Yankees will send out the 5-1 Jameson Taillon to the mound tonight. Taillon has an ERA of 2.49 over the course of 50.2 innings pitched. The Yankees are favored to win this game and come in at -145. Those odds aren’t bad considering how the Angels have performed, so we’ll take the Yankees.
Edmonton Oilers vs. Colorado Avalanche – 8:00 PM ET
In the NHL playoffs, game 2 of the West Final is set for tonight. The Edmonton Oilers are down 1-0 in the series after an 8-6 loss in Game 1. For Edmonton, goalie Mike Smith is listed as questionable for tonight’s game, so keep that in mind. The good news for the Oilers is that the same can be said for the Avalanche’s goalie.
With Darcy Kuemper potentially sidelined for the game, the Avalanche will rely on offense. On average, Colorado scores 3.76 goals per game, one of the best averages in the NHL. Defensively, they allow an average of 2.83 goals per game. However, they allowed much more in Game 1. Since they’re playing at home, we’ll take the Avalanche -175 tonight.
Boston Celtics vs. Golden State Warriors – 9:00 PM ET
The first game of the NBA Finals is set for tonight. The Boston Celtics, with one of the best offenses in the league, take on the Warriors. In their series against the Heat, Boston showed that you don’t need much offense to win games. The question is, will they be overwhelmed by how much offense the Warriors have? The Mavericks had a strong defense, too and were beaten.
For the Warriors, the game plan tonight is relatively simple; they’ll focus on what they do best. Draymond Green is tasked with guarding Jayson Tatum, the Celtics best player. Green is physical and will put a lot of pressure on Tatum. Because of this, the Celtics will have to try and work other players open. For the first game of the series, we have to take the Warriors -3.5.
New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Dodgers – 10:10 PM ET
The final game that we’ll take a look at is the Mets at the Dodgers. The New York Mets have a record of 35-17 this season and are 16-9 on the road. New York has won five of its last five games, the most recent win being a 5-0 win over Washington. Two great pitchers will face off tonight, with Taijuan Walker on the mound for the Mets. Walker has a 3-0 record as a starter.
For the Dodgers, Tony Gonsolin will get the nod to take the mound. Gonsolin has a record of 5-0 with an ERA of 1.80 this season. Overall, the Dodgers have been great at the plate but have struggled in recent games. The Pittsburgh Pirates swept them in this last series with all three games at home. We’ll go with the New York Mets +150 to win tonight’s game.
