MLB Best Bets for August 14, 2022

It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Sunday’s schedule.

Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins – 1:40 PM ETbraves vs marlins baseball betting

We’ll begin our best bets of the day with the fourth game of this series. Currently up 3-0, the Atlanta Braves have improved their record to 69-46. They’ve won five of their last five games, getting ever closer to taking over the NL East. On the mound tonight is Bryce Elder, whose 1-3 record and 5.48 ERA could mean trouble.

The Miami Marlins have lost three in a row to the Atlanta Braves. With a record of 50-64, this team has lost four of its last five games. The 2-6 Braxton Garrett will get the start for the Marlins tonight with an ERA of 4.02. Although the Marlins have an advantage at the pitching position, we’ll take the Braves -140.

Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds – 1:40 PM ETcubs vs reds baseball betting

Beginning at the same time mentioned above, the Cubs will face off against the Reds. With a record of 47-65 this season, the Cubs have won three in a row. On the mound tonight is one of Chicago’s best, Keegan Thompson. Thompson has a record of 9-5 this season with an ERA of 3.36. With Thompson on the mound, the Cubs are -155 to win this one.

The Cincinnati Reds have lost two games to the Cubs already. Yesterday’s game was an embarrassing 7-2 loss, bringing their losing streak to five in a row. Getting the start tonight is Justin Dunn, who has a 0-1 record with an ERA of 5.79. Considering the Reds are at a disadvantage on the mound, we’ll take the Cubs -155.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. St. Louis Cardinals – 2:15 PM ETbrewers vs cardinals baseball betting

The Milwaukee Brewers have a record of 61-51 and are 32-29 on the road. After beating the Cardinals 3-2 in the 10th inning last night, the Brewers are hoping to improve that record. Getting the start tonight is Aaron Ashby, which could be a big problem for the Brewers. Ashby has a record of 2-10 this season with an ERA of 4.32.

The St. Louis Cardinals have a 62-51 record and are 36-21 at home. As they lead the NL Central, the Cardinals will try to end this series with a win. If they can’t, they’ll be tied with the Milwaukee Brewers and could lose their No.1 spot. With Miles Mikolas on the mound, the Cardinals have a reliable pitcher that can win them this game.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Colorado Rockies – 3:10 PM ETdiamondbacks vs rockies baseball betting

These two NL West teams have gone back and forth through this series. The Diamondbacks were able to get a solid 6-0 win over the Rockies yesterday. Today, they’ll hope that SP Tommy Henry can shut down the Rockies batters. Henry has a record of 1-1 this season with an ERA of 3.75. The notable problem for the Diamondbacks is their .228 batting average.

The Colorado Rockies will start Ryan Feltner tonight. Feltner has a 2-3 record with a 6.02 ERA this season. With several players injured, it’s surprising they still come in as -125 favorites. Still, they’re one of the best batting teams in the league with an average of .264. We’ll take the Rockies to win this game at home -125.

Minnesota Twins vs. Los Angeles Angels – 4:07 PM ETtwins vs angels baseball betting

After losing four of their last five games, the Minnesota Twins are 58-54. They’ve fallen to the second-place spot in the AL Central and lost last night’s game 5-3. Inconsistencies at the plate are the biggest problem for the Twins and it’s yet to be addressed. The 2-5 Chris Archer will get the start for the Twins with an ERA of 4.02.

The good news for the Twins is the Los Angeles Angels aren’t starting one of their best pitchers. On the mound tonight is Tucker Davidson, who is 1-3 with an ERA of 7.91. If the Twins can take advantage of this early, they should win this game. They also have a better batting group than the Angels, so we’ll take the Twins -140.
