It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Monday’s schedule.
Cleveland Guardians vs. Detroit Tigers – 1:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Guardians are coming off of a huge 2-0 win over the New York Yankees yesterday. Now, they’ll begin their series against the Detroit Tigers, a team that is 30-47. The Guardians are 40-36 this season and have won three of their last five games. On the mound tonight is the 2-5 Zach Plesac who has a 3.86 ERA this season.
The Tigers will send out Garrett Hill in his first start this season. Detroit has struggled on the mound this season and we’ve yet to see what Hill can do. The Tigers have lost three of their last five games including yesterday’s loss to the Royals. With a 19-24 record at home, we’ll take the Guardians to win this one at -145.
Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers – 4:10 PM ET
Fast-forwarding into the afternoon we’ll see the Chicago Cubs face the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cubs, 32-47 this season, have a 15-20 record when traveling. It’s important to note that although they have an under .500 record, they’re 4-1 in their last five. On the mound tonight for the Cubs is the 3-5 Justin Steele, who has an ERA of 4.39.
The Milwaukee Brewers will send out the 6-3 Eric Lauer with a 4.02 ERA. The Brewers split the series with the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-2 which is a cause for concern. The good news for Milwaukee is that they have a 19-15 record at home this season. With Lauer on the mound and since they’re at home, we’ll take the Brewers -155.
New York Mets vs. Cincinnati Reds – 6:40 PM ET
The next game we’re going to take a look at is the New York Mets at Cincinnati Reds. The Mets, 49-30 this season, are searching for their 50th win of the season. They have a road record of 23-17 and will start the 6-2 Taijuan Walker tonight. Walker has had a great season thus far with an ERA of 2.72 over the course of 72.2 innings.
The Cincinnati Reds have lost four of their last five games but beat the Braves yesterday. On the mound for them tonight is Hunter Greene, who is 3-9 this season. With Greene on the mound the Reds are going to be in quite a bit of trouble tonight. Because of this, we’ll take the Mets to win this one on the road at -160.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Atlanta Braves – 7:20 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals lost 4-0 to the Phillies yesterday bringing them to 44-37 this season. Today, against the Atlanta Braves, the pitching battle will be one to watch. On the mound for the Cardinals is Dakota Hudson, who is 6-4 this season with a 3.83 ERA. The Cardinals also have a slight edge at the plate with a team batting average of .253.
The Atlanta Braves will start Kyle Wright who has a 9-4 record as a starter this season. This game will boil down to who will have the best night between Wright and Hudson. At the plate, the Braves have a batting average of .248, which is rather good. They’re also 3-2 in their last five, so we’ll take the Braves at -170.
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Oakland Athletics – 9:07 PM ET
Our final game of the night will see the Toronto Blue Jays face the Oakland Athletics. The Blue Jays come into this game as heavy favorites at -240. With a 44-36 record this season, they’ll send out one of their best pitchers Alek Manoah. Manoah is 9-2 as a starter this season with an ERA of 2.09 this season. We expect Manoah to have another great game tonight.
The Athletics have had a tough season with a 26-55 record at the moment. At home, they’re 8-28 and things aren’t looking good for them tonight. Cole Irvin will get the start for them today and has a record of 2-6 as a starter this year. Regardless of who was starting, the Blue Jays are the best bet here at -240.
