New York closed out their series with the Reds by picking up a 3-1 win. Going into the game, they were favored at -118 on the money line. This game was closer than the final score indicates, as the Mets were only winning 1-0 heading into the 9th before Francisco Lindor hit a two-run homer in their half of the 9th. The Reds did score one time in the bottom of the 9th, but Edwin Díaz was able to close things out and earned the save.

Sean Manaea started for the Mets, going five innings and giving up just one earned run while striking out six. He allowed the games first run in the 4th inning but was able to limit the damage and keep the Reds offense in check for the rest of the game. Offensively, Lindor and Starling Marte went deep, with Lindor driving in two runs and going 2/5.

Julio Teheran Gets The Start For The Mets

Julio Teheran is coming off a season in which he made 14 appearances and 11 starts. His record for the season was 3-5, and he finished the year with an ERA of 4.39. Last season, he made two appearances against the Braves and went 0-1 with an ERA of 4.42. For the season, he had five quality starts and gave up a total of 13 home runs. Austin Riley and Matt Olson went deep for the Braves, with Riley driving in two runs and Olson finishing with a total of three RBI’s.

Chris Sale got the start for the Braves, going 5 1/3 innings and giving up two earned runs on four hits. He struck out six in his outing. Michael Harris II hit the other homer for the Braves, going 1/3 with a run scored and one RBI.

Charlie Morton Gets The Start For The Braves

Charlie Morton is coming off a strong start against the White Sox in his first outing of the season. He went 5 2/3 innings, striking out 6 and only giving up 3 hits. He did not allow a run in the outing.

For the Braves, we have Ronald Acuña Jr. as our top projected hitter in terms of total hits. His hits projection is 9th best in the league today.
