NFL Regular Season Week 16 Betting Outlook

We are seeing many teams getting ready for the playoffs as we head into the final weeks of the NFL regular season. Some teams are starting to take the lead, while others fall into the background. 

This next week, there are many games that are up in the air. You never know what will happen heading into each game. Many times, the underdogs can surprise you and come out ahead.

It is Week 16, with just three more weeks of regular season football on the schedule. The games mean more, the wins and losses are now deciding playoff spots, and the intensity of the betting is at a season-high. Here are the NFL matchups for Christmas weekend.

Las Vegas Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers – Saturday, December 24th, 2022 8:15 pm CST 

Christmas Eve night, the Raiders and Steelers end the day’s slate of games with an old-school rivalry that goes back to the Immaculate Reception. Las Vegas is coming off the “Immaculate Lateral,” which allowed them to steal a win on Sunday against the Patriots and stay alive for the postseason.

The Steelers are the favorites (-2.5), also still in the playoff hunt, and can still save Mike Tomlin’s streak of never having a losing season. But for both teams, a loss on Saturday night will end those dreams.

Green Bay Packers at Miami Dolphins – Saturday, December 25th, 2022 1:00 pm CST 

The reality for Miami is that even though the AFC East hasn’t officially been lost yet, they are only going to be in the playoffs as a Wild Card team. But they have to keep winning to make that happen, with both the Jets and Patriots right behind them.

The Dolphins are favorites over the Packers at -3.5, who themselves have been surging thanks to Aaron Rodgers and Christian Watson finding a connection. The Packers’ moneyline payout is +175, and even though they are not as good as Miami, never count out Rodgers.
