It’s another great day for baseball betting! Here, we’re taking a look and betting on the top five games on Wednesday’s schedule.

New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves – 12:20 PM ET

To begin our day we’re going to take a look at one of the early games today. The New York Mets, who have lost three of their last five, face the Atlanta Braves again. Yesterday, the Braves beat the Mets 4-1, tying the series at 1-1. Tonight, the Mets will send out the 6-6 Chris Bassitt to start the game. Bassitt has an ERA of 3.94 over the span of 96.0 innings.

The Atlanta Braves will have to pay most of its attention to the Mets’ batting. As a team, New York ranks among the best in MLB with a batting average of .254. The Braves don’t trail far behind with an average of .249. Charlie Morton, who is 5-3 as a starter, will take the mound with an ERA of 4.21. This is a tough call but we’ll go with the Mets at +130 here.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Francisco Giants – 3:45 PM ET

Moving forward into the afternoon, we’ll see a game between the Diamondbacks and Giants. These two NL West teams are both looking to improve their positioning. The Diamondbacks, with a record of 39-49, are just trying to get to .500. Zac Gallen, who has a 4-2 record as a starter, will get the nod tonight. Gallen has an ERA of 3.62 this season with 84 strikeouts.

The main problem for the Diamondbacks is that they don’t have much batting. As a team, they’re currently batting .223, one of the worst in the league. Although the Giants aren’t much better (.237), they still have a significant edge. On the mound tonight is John Brebbia, who is 4-1 as a starter. We’ll take the San Francisco Giants at home tonight.

Cincinnati Reds vs. New York Yankees – 7:05 PM ET

The Reds have a pretty solid win streak going at the moment after yesterday’s win. They pulled off a shocking 4-3 upset over the Yankees. Today, they head into Game 2 against New York with Mike Minor getting the start for Cincinnati. Minor has a record of 1-6 this season with an ERA of 6.63. With Minor on the mound, things aren’t looking too good for the Reds.

The New York Yankees have lost three straight games. Part of this could be accredited to injuries they’ve suffered. The 5-3 Luis Severino will take the mound for the Yankees tonight. Severino has an ERA of 3.11 and has done much better than Minor this season. With New York winning the pitching battle we’ll take the Yankees -335.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. St. Louis Cardinals – 7:45 PM ET

Yesterday, the Dodgers suffered a 7-6 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals, beginning the series 0-1. Today, they’re adding a step of security by starting the undefeated pitcher Tony Gonsolin. Gonsolin has an 11-0 record this season with an ERA of 1.62. He gives the Dodgers the best chance to get a win and get back on track.

Gonsolin isn’t the only part of the Dodgers that the Cardinals have to worry about. The batters for the Dodgers have a team average of .254. The good news for St. Louis is they don’t trail far behind at .251. Unfortunately, Adam Wainwright and his 6-7 record don’t quite match up to Gonsolin. We’ll go with the Dodgers to win this one on the road at -155.

San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies – 8:40 PM ET

Our final game of the night features another set of NL West teams. The San Diego Padres currently rank second in the division with a 50-39 record. The series between these two is currently tied at 1-1 after yesterday’s loss. On the mound tonight for the Padres is Joe Musgrove, who is 8-2 this season. Musgrove has an ERA of 2.09 and 98 strikeouts.

With Musgrove on the mound the Rockies batters are in a tough spot. As a team, however, they’ve been able to put together an impressive season. They have a team batting average of .257 and a .320 on-base percentage. In each of those categories, they have the edge over the Padres. They’re the underdogs here, but we’ll take the Rockies +143.
